The network is a partnership of service providers, supporters and Dispalced Homemakers and activities include:
- Advocating for Displaced Homemakers
- Expanding existing services
- Fundraising
- Providing in-service training
The Network meets monthly to analyze issues affecting Displaced Homemakers throughout New Jersey, to share expertise and to enhance program effectiveness.
Through the Network's efforts, May is traditionally proclaimed DISPLACED HOMEMAKERS AWARENESS Month by the Governor of New Jersey. In Celebration, the Network hosts its annual legislative and Awards Reception at the State House to honor individuals, organizations, and corporations whose actions promote empowerment and self-sufficiency for Displaced Homemakers. The Network provides scholarships to displaced Homemakers seeking to further their education. The Network actively participates in Women Work! The National Network for Women's Employment and its Region II activities.
